Guus Hiddink has been appointed Turkey’s new manager when his contract with Russia expires on 30 June.

He will be stepping down from the Russia post after failing to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa.

He has agreed to a twoyear deal with Turkey with the option of two more and will take control from 1 August.

Guus Hiddink has also managed Real Madrid, Chelsea, as well as National teams such as South Korea, Netherlands and Australia.

The Turkish Football Federation met Mr Hiddink in Amsterdam on (Tuesday) and agreed on a deal of four years, of which two years will be optional.

It had been rumoured that Mr Hiddink was a potential successor to Shaibu Amodu, the Nigerian coach who was sacked earlier this month .
